Best AI visibility tools for local businesses in 2026, prices checked

Updated 2026-10-27. By the SeenRank team.

Short answer: our #1 pick for local businesses is SeenRank ($39/mo). A local business gets found two ways now, on Google Maps and in AI answers from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and SeenRank is built for the AI side: it checks all three assistants with the questions your customers ask and turns the misses into a to-do list. For the Maps side, Local Falcon (from $24.99/mo) and BrightLocal (from $31/mo billed annually) are the standard map-rank tools. Cheaper AI trackers exist (Rankscale, Otterly), but they charge extra for Claude and Gemini or bill yearly. The enterprise platforms (Profound, Goodie, AthenaHQ) are not built for a single location.

Disclosure: we make SeenRank, so read our entry with that in mind. Every price below was read on the vendor’s own pricing page on October 27, 2026. If a price has changed, tell us at support@seenrank.com and we will fix it.

Why local businesses need a different tool

Most AI visibility tools were built for software brands tracking hundreds of prompts. A plumber, dentist or med spa has a different problem: customers ask “who is the best plumber in Bel Air?” and the answer depends on the town.

In October 2026 we asked ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini that kind of question 1,080 times across four Maryland towns and ten kinds of business (full study). Two findings matter when you pick a tool:

  • Half of Google Maps is invisible to AI. 319 of the 652 businesses in the Maps results (49%) were never named in any answer.
  • Maps #1 is usually not the AI pick. In 27 of 40 categories, the business AI named most was not #1 on Google Maps. In 10 it was outside the Maps top ten.

So a map-rank report alone can tell you that you are winning while AI sends the customer to a competitor, and an AI tracker alone misses the map. Pick tools that cover the side you are weak on.

1. SeenRank: the #1 pick for local businesses

SeenRank asks ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the questions your customers ask, each with web search on and set to your town, and records whether you were named, where, and who was named instead. Every week you get a short to-do list, biggest wins first, and a before-and-after so you can see if a fix worked.

  • Price: Solo $39/mo (2 businesses, 10 questions), Growth $99/mo (5 businesses), Pro $249/mo (15 businesses, white-label reports, API). 7-day free trial, no contract.
  • Free first: a no-signup check at seenrank.com/check.
  • Honest gap: no street-by-street map grid. If your Maps rank is the main worry, pair it with Local Falcon or BrightLocal.

2. Local Falcon: map-pack rank by location

Local Falcon scans a grid of points around your business and shows where you rank in the Google map pack at each one, which is how most local SEO pros measure the map. Plans run $24.99, $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month on credits, with 100 free credits at signup. It has added AI visibility features and Business Profile tools. Pick it when map rank is the question.

3. BrightLocal: the full local SEO kit

BrightLocal is priced per location: Track is $41/mo ($31/mo billed annually) for one location, with Manage and Grow tiers above it. Its Local AI Visibility Tracker comes with every plan, alongside rank tracking, and the higher tiers add listings and review management. It is the natural pick for a business with several locations or an agency running local SEO for many clients. The AI side is one feature among many, not the focus.

4 to 6. The budget AI trackers: Rankscale, Otterly, Ayzeo

  • Rankscale is the lowest entry price at $17/mo, but only on a yearly plan. Monthly starts at $99 (Pro). It runs on credits.
  • Otterly Lite is $29/mo for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Claude is a $29/mo add-on and Gemini $9/mo on Lite, so all three big assistants cost $67/mo.
  • Ayzeo Starter is $39/mo for one project and 20 prompts on ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Claude, Gemini and Perplexity are $29/mo each per project. Its 14-day free trial is on Pro ($149/mo) and needs a card.

None of the three has Google Maps or Business Profile features, and none tells you what to change. They show you the answers.

7 to 9. For more prompts or deeper analytics: LLMrefs, SE Visible, Peec AI

  • LLMrefs has one plan at $79/mo for 500 prompts across about ten engines, marked “limited time only”, with a 7-day trial.
  • SE Visible, from SE Ranking, starts at $89/mo ($71 billed annually) for 75 prompts. It suits teams already paying for SE Ranking.
  • Peec AI is $95/mo (Starter), $245 (Pro) or $495 (Advanced), each with 3 models you choose. It is strong on country-level segmentation, which matters more to a national brand than a local one.

How to choose

  1. One location, owner-run: run the free check first. If AI names you, a map-rank tool may be all you need. If it names competitors instead, use a tool that tells you why and what to fix.
  2. Several locations: BrightLocal or Local Falcon for the map, plus an AI tracker that checks each town separately, because AI answers change from town to town.
  3. An agency: look at the cost per client, white-label reports and whether Claude and Gemini are included or extra. Per-engine add-ons multiply fast across 15 clients.

What no tool does for you

A tracker measures, and you still have to do the work. AI assistants build local answers from a small set of sources. In our study Yelp, Angi, YellowPages, HomeAdvisor and Facebook came up again and again. A complete, matching listing on those sites, steady new reviews and a website page that says plainly what you do and where will move you more than any dashboard. See why a business isn’t showing up in AI answers for the full list, and how to rank in ChatGPT as a local business for the step-by-step version.

FAQ

What is the best AI visibility tool for a local business?

SeenRank ($39/mo) is the #1 pick for a local business that wants to know whether ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini recommend it, and what to fix when they don’t. If your main worry is your Google Maps rank, Local Falcon (from $24.99/mo) or BrightLocal (from $31/mo billed annually) measure the map pack directly. Many local businesses need both: in our Harford County study, 49% of businesses on Google Maps were never named by any AI.

Do Google Maps rank trackers measure AI recommendations?

Partly. Local Falcon and BrightLocal both added AI visibility features, but they are map-rank tools first. AI assistants read review sites, directories and your own pages, so a business can rank well on Maps and still be skipped by ChatGPT. In 27 of the 40 categories we measured, the business AI named most was not #1 on Google Maps.

What is the cheapest way to check if ChatGPT recommends my business?

Run a free check at seenrank.com/check: no card and no signup. It asks AI the question a customer would ask in your town and shows whether you are named and who is named instead. For ongoing tracking, the cheapest paid plans are Rankscale ($17/mo, yearly only), Otterly ($29/mo, Claude and Gemini cost extra) and SeenRank ($39/mo, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini included).

Which AI visibility tools are not a good fit for local businesses?

Enterprise platforms such as Profound (custom quote), Goodie (from $295/mo) and AthenaHQ (Starter $295/mo) are built for large brands tracking hundreds of prompts across many engines and countries. They have no Google Business Profile or map-pack features, and their prices assume a marketing team.
